What Do You Desire?

This is a question which resonates amongst the best of us. Many individuals have no idea or just the opposite. For me, there are many things which flow through my mind. However, as I do every year. An end of the year self-evaluation. Where do I want to go? What direction have I taken in the past year? How did it work for me?

My thoughts are not complicated. In fact, quite simple! As a leader, father, husband, and human being, four things stand out as to where I would like my life to go. My deepest desires are not for money, a new car, big house or fame. No.... not things so superficial or materialistic. Instead, I look much deeper to inside as to what I need to make me a greater individual. This is the "real" me.

There are four specific areas I'm challenging myself on in the coming year. They are: 1) Spiritual; 2) Health; 3) Organization and 4) Focus. As I think about my life, we only exist on this planet for so long. Why not strive to be the best individual that one can be.... Once this is accomplished, all of the other pieces automatically fall into place.

Spirituality: A very personal journey where everyone has different beliefs. I respect yours and you respect mine. Just because my view is different doesn't make one a bad person. For we all will have to stand in judgment.

Health: It's all we have! Without it there is nothing. Money cannot buy one more time on this earth. Our lives are nothing more than the blink of an eye. Don't believe me? Think about how many years ago you graduated high school. What reunion number are you on? The worst part is, it only feels like yesterday.

Organization: One cannot be overly organized. So many individuals don't even know where to begin. Unless, you an "A" type personality. Examine your personal life. Stand back and look around in your office, home, car (especially the trunk) or mind. See all of the clutter. I see it! Don't refuse to acknowledge it. Instead, clean it up by getting rid of the junk. That goes for physically, emotionally or mentally.

Focus: Once one becomes more spiritual, healthy and organized this automatically brings in focus. The picture is now seen a lot clearer. It's like looking through a pair of binoculars. Adjust the lenses for your eyes to see so clearly what's in front of you. Without a clear view everything remains a blur, which impedes progress.

These are my desires to improve on becoming a better individual. What are yours?
